Asian Handicap Explained
1. What is an Asian Handicap?
The Asian Handicap is a form of betting that originates from the East and is designed to eliminate the possibility of a draw in a football match. By giving one team a virtual head-start or a deficit, the bookmaker creates a 50/50 balance between the two sides.
2. Understanding the Main Lines
0.0 (Draw No Bet): If your team wins, you win. If it's a draw, your stake is refunded.
-0.5: Identical to a simple Win. You win if your team wins the match.
+0.25: You win if your team wins. If it's a draw, you win half the profit.
Why Professionals Use It
Asian Handicaps offer superior market liquidity and lower margins than standard 1X2 markets. It allows for complex risk management, especially when backing underdogs to "stay within the line."
